Cathy started working at Rossouw & Prinsloo Attorney as a typist in 1980.
She continued as a typist at Graftech but was soon promoted to a personal assistant for the next 19 years. After a few years as an estate agent Cathy started at Gega in June 2013 as a Receptionist and General Administrator.
Soon her administrative role enlarged, and she effectively handled the company’s switchboard, quotes, petty cash, debtors, creditors, invoices, delivery notes, import sales and paid the suppliers. Cathy can work well under pressure, is focused, accepts difficulty, and is determined on getting things done right and on time.
Her role in the company is to keep the gears greased in order for everything to run smoothly. As an Office Administrator, her goal is to achieve high standards of internal and external customer satisfaction.
She is always concerned about the well-being of the people around her and is enthusiastic to create and ensure a friendly atmosphere in the office.
Cathay plays a major role as head of sales and was included in our leadership team recently where she really excels as a leader.
Sam did his ‘8’ Cambridge University examination at ordinary and advanced levels and successfully completed amongst other subjects Mathematics, Science, Woodworks & English
He achieved his HND/BSc Mechanical Engineering National certificate in metal fabrication and was a trainee apprentice Boilermaker at Lafarge Cement from 1997-2001.
He worked as a projects and maintenance Technician for Wankie, Collery Mine, Hwange Power station, Anglo-Ashanti Gold mine, Turk Gold mine, Mine machines, and Zimbabwe Phosphate Industries in Zimbabwe. As a Quality Inspector and boiler shop Foreman at Group 5, and in Zambia at Handyman’s Lime.
He also has experience as a Boilermaker, Workshop Manager, Projects
Manager and Production Manager for Efficient Engineering (SA)
As a controlled and skilful Engineer, he is a systematic reader, drawer, calculator and quoter on engineering drawings.
He has trained apprentices, can do basic welding and fabrication and is qualified in first aid training and safety. Quality and thoroughness are priority when planning and organizing the company’s material He thrives on challenges and is determined to solve it to perfection, even after hours.
Sam is a team player and supportive towards the people around them. He is truly a stalwart in our leadership team.
Chawn-Douglas Cloete obtained his degree in Chartered Accounting at the North-West University.
Completion of his articles at Baker Tilly JHB a top 10 auditing firm worldwide and successful registration with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants prepared him for a successful profession in finance.
Chawn-Douglas finds fulfillment when he is strategically and actively involved with problem solving and implementing procedures and controls to ensure close to perfection operations.
If not at work Chawn-Douglas will without a doubt be found in the bush , as this is where his heart lies “If I ever saw magic , it has been in the bushveld” is one of Chawn’s favorite quotes.
Family and strong relationships are key components in his day-to-day life and he strives to improve it every day.
Helping people is his second nature & top notch service delivery with a big smile.

“What we do in life echo’s in eternity” – was an ideology my father lived by. Thus, by the Grace of God, I want to help grow my father’s legacy to great heights.
Connie completed his high school studies in 1967 at Vereeniging Technical School and thereafter he started working at Vecor in Duncanville Vereeniging, as an apprentice boilermaker.
He completed his learnership at Olifantsfontein and obtained a NTS3 Red Seal certificate as well as a N4 subject in Mechanical techniques. He started working at Samancor Grassvalley Chrome Mine in 1973 as an Artisan surface Boilermaker and after 5 months he was appointed as the plant Engineer Assistant and Planner. After 10 years of service the mine sadly closed, and in 1983 he was transferred to Samancor Meyerton. He started as a training officer in welding and boiler making, and was later promoted to Senior Mechanical training officer.
The Training Centre privatized in 2002 and subsequently new opportunities were presented, he became the Workshop Manager at Gega Lotz Pty Ltd from 2002 until 2021.
He further obtained his gas equipment and machine experience whilst working for Gega Lotz Pty Ltd from 2002 until present. He travelled to Germany twice, where he obtained international experience and knowledge which include the following:
He started training fellow employees and assisted several different plants. He built many successful relationships within the Steelmaking industry. Connie is a soft-hearted person, who likes to help and assist his fellow colleagues. His Bee-personality makes him an analytical person who always expects accuracy & quality.
Maxim is truly blessed to have Connie as a team member in our leadership team and privileged to benefit from his specialist advice and expertise.
